Edward Montone

The Winthrop Golf Club Board of Governors is very excited to announce that the new Golf Professional for the 2020 season is Edward Montone. Eddie was born and raised in Winthrop, MA and attended Winthrop Public Schools. While a senior at Winthrop High School, Eddie was captain of the golf team. After graduating Winthrop High School, Eddie attended the Professional Career Golfers College in Orlando, Florida. There he had an opportunity to work with a number of professional instructors and meet golfers of all skill levels from around the country who inspired and mentored him. Following graduation, Eddie returned to Boston and worked in various capacities at area golf clubs including Salem Country Club in Peabody, MA and, most recently, Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, MA where he has had increasing roles of responsibility as an assistant to head pro Bob Green. While at Tedesco, Eddie managed member tee-times, tournaments, pro-shop operations and maintained golf equipment and apparel vendor relationships.

In addition to his club management skills, Eddie finds great satisfaction in working with golfers who want to further their skill and enjoyment of the game. From beginner to advanced, Eddie can analyze every aspect of a person’s golf set up, swing, and ball-striking ability. He can also recommend the best equipment suited to his student’s overall mechanics. During the off-season, Eddie manages The Clubhouse, an indoor golf and entertainment facility in Middleton, MA. Eddie's playing career is not too bad either:

Congratulations to Eddie Montone in his new position with the Winthrop Golf Club. We look forward to getting him started and available to meet our members.
